For new members, before submitting a membership form, please have a chat with our club chairman via the contact us page.
Please note you will not be able to access the membership form without being given a password first.
To start or renew your membership to the Chelmsford Mountaineering Club for 2026, please complete the following 2 steps:

Frequently Asked Membership Questions

Membership is £38.00 for the year.
If you join halfway through the year (i.e July), you will pay a reduced fee of £23.50.

You will get standard access to our club WhatsApp group chats, and you will also get British Mountaineering Council (BMC) membership included with your club membership. With our BMC club affiliation, all of our members receive personal liability insurance, as well as gear discounts in a range of outdoor stores- more on this below.

Discounted entry at selected walls - including Rock Hub Basildon, where we meet every Tuesday, as well various other walls that accept BMC discount.
Ability to borrow club climbing kit and selected guidebook access
Regular outdoor meets
Discounts across various outdoor retailers - With BMC membership, you can get up to 15% discount across various shops. Some retailers offering this include Cotswold Outdoor, Ellis Brigham, Snow+Rock and more. A full list can be found here.
Excellent value BMC courses, workshops and lectures.
Discounts on guidebooks and other products in the BMC shop.
You can also get access to BMC Insurance for an additional cost, and usually at very acceptable prices.
